1. Stairs, Ladders & Recessed Steps
Mandatory if pool depth > 60 cm

2. Showers & Sanitary Facilities
1 head and 1 foot shower for every 25 meters of pool circumference
Clearly marked signs to encourage use
3. Lighting & Electrical
Proper underwater/overwater lighting (max 50 LUX)
Earth circuit breakers required
Low-voltage lights only
4. Deck Area & Safety
Minimum deck clearance:
Private pools: 1 meter
Public pools: 1.5 meters
Non-slip flooring with proper drainage
Fencing (min height 1.2m) and self-closing gate
5. Disinfection & Filtration
Use of chlorine/bromine automated dosing systems
Water turnover not exceeding 4 hours
Multiple outlet drains and skimmers
Max depth: 50 cm for children’s pools, 90 cm for Jacuzzis
Must have a separate fence (1.2m) if near adult pools
At least two outlet drains
